MUSIC - Support for People with Depression 2025: Campaign Summary

This year's edition brought together 37 choirs and vocal ensembles, which organized 40 events, spreading the message that depression is an illness that can and should be treated, and that singing together is one of the oldest forms of emotional support.

In October 2025, the Chórtownia Foundation once again invited choirs from across Poland and abroad to participate in the "MUSIC - Support for People with Depression" campaign, combining art, prevention, and social empathy. This year's edition brought together 37 choirs and vocal ensembles, which organized 40 events – concerts, workshops, open rehearsals, and liturgical performances – spreading the message that depression is an illness that can and should be treated, and that singing together is one of the oldest forms of emotional support.

In total, approximately 1,800 people participated in all 40 events organized in Poland, Germany, Italy, France, Austria, and the USA. The events took place in the following 27 cities: Düsseldorf (Germany), Sosnowiec, Gniew, Gostyń, Katowice, Wrocław, Białystok, Tarnowskie Góry, Jędrzejów, and New York (USA).
Gdańsk, Warsaw, Gliwice, Murowana Goślina, Wojkowice, Szczecin, Le Pradet (France), Dywity, Poznań, Sopot, Bydgoszcz, Genova (Italy), Rumia, Bielsko-Biała, Lublin, Klosternereuburg (Austria), Cham (Germany), and online. It is estimated that all publications related to the "MUSIC – Support for People with Depression 2025" campaign, both on the Chórtownia Foundation's profile and on the websites of participating choirs, achieved a total of approximately 150,000 organic views on social media. More than half of these reached people beyond their regular followers.

In addition to coordinating the overall campaign, the Chórtownia Foundation organized three events in Sosnowiec, Gliwice, and Ruda Śląska. During the workshops, vocal workshops were led by renowned conductors Łukasz Łoboda, Dr. Krzysztof Dudzik, and Kamil Gojowy, and the psychology section was led by Dr. Krzysztof Dudzik and Maria Zych. Nearly 140 people participated in the workshops, combining singing with conversations about emotions and mental health.

Evaluation of the events confirmed their exceptional impact: over 90% of participants reported improved well-being, with joy, emotion, peace, and motivation being the most frequently mentioned emotions.

A full summary of the campaign is available at https://depresja.chortownia.org/news/summary-of-the-campaign-2025, including the choirs' reports, a gallery of social media materials, a podcast with Bruno Żółtowski, and a film prepared by the Metropolis GZM from the workshops in Ruda Śląska.

The "MUSIC - Support for People with Depression" campaign shows that singing together not only brings people together, but also helps them regain balance, hope and self-confidence - sound by sound, voice by voice.
