Protect Armenian Cultural & Historical Sites in Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh)

Protect Armenian Cultural & Historical Sites in Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh)
The areas with priceless Armenian monuments have come under the control of Azerbaijan and are threatened with destruction. Please urgently sign the petition to UNESCO to act immediately on the protection of historical heritage.

On November 10, Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan have signed a joint statement to end the war in Artsakh, that was going on for more than 40 days. This deal has forced Armenia to surrender to Azerbaijan most of the territories they had in Artsakh. During the war, many videos of Azerbaijani soldiers destroying cultural Armenian monuments while capturing cities cound be seen in the internet, and the worldwide Armenian community is now concerned that when the Government of Azerbaijan get full control of the territories conceded in the deal, they will continue the policy of cultural genocide, the same way Turks did after the Armenian genocide, in cities like Ani.

The list of all the monuments, churches, and cultural sites on the territories that will now be part of Azerbaijani rule is being prepared now, and will be showed to UNESCO and other parties, to avoid it's destruction because this would be a loss for the whole humanity.

Azerbaijan already destroyed the ancient and very important cemetery of Julfa in Nakhichevan and there is a big fear, that it will continue this with other historical monuments.

We address the choral community because we did some wonderful choral projects together with the Armenian Choral Conductors' Association. The cooperation with ACCA started with the participation of choirs from Armenia in the project "The Sound of Europe", then we released together the CD "The Treasures of Music: Armenia "and two years ago we organized workshops with Armenian music in Gliwice (Poland), which were conducted by conductors from Yerevan. Our stays in Armenia have always been associated with many emotions, we were lucky to admire this beautiful country, meet the wonderful people who live there and immerse ourselves in wonderful music.

We are not to judge the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh. However, we believe that the historical monuments in this area belong to the whole world and as such should be untouched. Therefore, we ask you to sign (link below) and forward this information.
